English as a language has impacted our lives to an extent that it is never going to stop and will keep on increasing day by day, year by year, and decades by decades. English is also known as The global language as it is not only spoken in one country but around the whole world. Even the first language of people is given a back seat with the coming of English into our lives. English has made its impact worldwide throughout these years. Millions and millions of people speak English as their first language and over 430 million people speak English as their second language. We can clearly jump to the conclusion that English entered our lives to stay forever and never leave.
In this fast-paced growing of English speaking world, everyone around is so influenced by the language that everyone wants to learn how to speak English fluently and make a mark in this English speaking world. All of us are aware that learning is a gradual process and nothing can be learned just in a time span of a day or two. Everything and anything need time to happen and every goal needs time to be achieved. Here are some tips which can help you learn and speak English fluently.
Get motivated and create a learning strategy
By getting motivated and creating a strategy I mean get your mind cleared with the thought that you have to do a particular task under any circumstances. Don’t ever think that you cannot do it, always think you can and you will be able to do it anyhow. Because whatever you think, you are right. After getting motivated make a plan on how you are going to learn the language, what all strategies you need to apply while learning it, how much time do you need to invest in it, and also how well you execute your plan to make it successful and achieve your goal.
Practice everyday
As I said before learning is a gradual process and nothing can be done just in a day or two. The same is with this language of English. If you think that practicing once or twice a week will make you perfect in English speaking and get you the desired fluency, you are wrong. Communication skills cannot be developed in this manner. You need to practice at least an hour every day. One of the best techniques used by almost everyone is talking to yourself. Stand in front of a mirror, and talk to your mirror image as if it’s not your image but a second person in front of you. Trust me, it works.
Learn from everywhere it’s possible
Try to learn English from everywhere and anywhere you can. Watch English movies and web shows as listening helps even more as compared to writing. Observe the people in movies, how they speak, how much ease they feel while speaking in English, what type of words they use, focus on their grammar, try to find at least 5 new words and their meanings every day, and try to use them in your vocabulary. Memorize everything you see and learn. But do not always keep focusing on grammar because it’s not always about grammar but also the confidence one has while conversing in English.
Study commonly used material
It is very important to identify useful and authentic material that will help you in a better way and enhance your skills. For this you need to make sure that the material you are using is correct. Otherwise, you will learn to speak English but incorrectly. That is why try to study from the material which is used by most of the people.
Do not hesitate and don’t be afraid to make mistakes
The biggest hurdle while learning or speaking English is hesitation. We all are scared to be judged by the person in front and it is the only reason we get demotivated easily. But we need to stop doing this. Try to converse in English with everyone, family, and friends especially. This will help you gain confidence and achieve fluency along with practicing every day. Another way to get rid of hesitation is to record yourself and listen to it again and again. Find out your own mistakes and errors which you would like to change in it. Believe in yourself and you will be able to do it.
Happy Learning!!
